Consecutive Serial Number One Dollar Bill Collection from 1985
In this post we'll look at a one dollar bill collection that has consecutive serial numbers and are from the year 1985. These notes were produced at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco district (12th district) and are of the LP block. They have Ortega (Treasurer) Baker (Secretary of the Treasury) signatures on them.
In 1985 the US dollar was particularly strong against other currencies and an agreement was made between the US, Germany and Japan to depreciate the dollar against the Mark and Yen. The United Kingdom and France were also involved in this agreement called the Plaza Accord.
