1915 German 20 Marks Banknote P-63
In this post we have a 1915 German 20 Marks Banknote P-63. On it's front we see imagery of 2 figural guys with bags pouring coins out of them and the note's denomination is in the middle. The serial number is in the bottom left and right. On the reverse we see a man on the left and a woman the right. If you look closely at the man and what he is doing with his shirt you'll know he represents labor/work and the woman with her eyes closed is supposed to represent sleep/rest. This banknote was issued in 1915 by the Reichsbank in the midst of World War I. This was a the year after Germany went off of the gold standard when the currency became the Papiermark. The Papiermark had notes issued under it ending with hyperinflation which culminated in 1923. In 1924 the Rentenmark (stabilization currency) kicked in.
