1852 Netherlands 10 C Sc #2 Stamp

Here we'll look at a used 1852 Netherlands 10 C Sc #2 imperforate stamp.  It's color is carmine and it has a watermark of a horn.  This Dutch ten cents stamp features Willem III who was the King of the Netherlands for 40+ years and whose reign ended with his death in 1890. He was from the House of Orange-Nassau and also held the title of Grand Duke of Luxembourg.  

Collectible Graded One Dollar Bill 1977 Cleveland Ohio

 The topic of this post is 1977A One Dollar Bill Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Ohio DC block.  It is PMG graded 65 Exceptional Paper Quality.  It has Morton Miller signatures. At the time Willis Winn  was the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Ohio serving from 1971 until 1982.  Winn worked under Fed Chairmen Aurthur Burns and Paul Volcker.  He was known to agree with Volcker's tough policies to fight inflation with interest rates increases.

Consecutive Serial Number One Dollar Bill Collection from 1985

In this post we'll look at a one dollar bill collection that has consecutive serial numbers and are from the year 1985.  These notes were produced at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco district (12th district) and are of the LP block.  They have Ortega (Treasurer) Baker (Secretary of the Treasury) signatures on them.     In 1985 the US dollar was particularly strong against other currencies and an agreement was made between the US, Germany and Japan to depreciate the dollar against the Mark and Yen.  The United Kingdom and France were also involved in this agreement called the Plaza Accord .

1979 $1 Duck Stamp 1 LI Wetlands and Waterfowl League Inc

This post will look at a 1979 $1 Duck Stamp issued by the Long Island Wetlands and Waterfowl League Inc.  It features 3 golden eye ducks in flight with the denomination below in the bottom right.  This stamp was designed by Diane Pierce.  

1972-1980 Brazil 1 Cruzeiro Note

This post will be on a 1972-1980 Brazil 1 Cruzeiro Note. It is uncirculated.   On the front we see an image of Efígie da República pointing to the left and to the left of her is the denomination.  This female figure is a representation of Liberty (in Greco Romano style).  On the reverse on this banknote we see a picture of the old Banco Central building underneath which is the denomination.  The currency of Brazil  was redone several times during the 20th century and has been in it's current form of the Real (BRL) since 1994.  The note in this post was from the currency known as the second Cruzeiro. A note like this available in this banknote and coin lot .

1915 German 20 Marks Banknote P-63

In this post we have a 1915 German 20 Marks Banknote P-63.  On it's front we see imagery of 2 figural guys with bags pouring coins out of them and the note's denomination is in the middle.  The serial number is in the bottom left and right.  On the reverse we see a man on the left and a woman the right.  If you look closely at the man and what he is doing with his shirt you'll know he represents labor/work and the woman with her eyes closed is supposed to represent sleep/rest.  This banknote was issued in 1915 by the Reichsbank in the midst of World War I. This was a the year after Germany went off of the gold standard when the currency became the Papiermark.  The Papiermark had notes issued under it ending with hyperinflation which culminated in 1923.  In 1924 the  Rentenmark (stabilization currency) kicked in. 1880s St Vincent 6 Pence Stamp SC 51 Queen Victoria

The following is a 1880s  St Vincent 6 Pence Stamp featuring Queen Victoria SC#51.  It is unused hinged , does not have gum and has 14 perforations.   St Vincent is an island country in the Caribbean that was formerly under British control continuously between 1783 until independence in 1979.  Victoria was queen of the United Kingdom from 1837 until her passing in 1901.
